Fun family vacation home by Little Traverse Bay, Petoskey, MI. USA; Seeking France for 2024 Olympics

The Meyer family is looking forward to another home exchange.  We have actually been involved with Intervac since 1988 and have had many, many successful exchanges. Recent exchange families have described northern MI and it's fresh water lakes as one of the best secrets in the world.  One exchange family returned to northern Michigan, having enjoyed it so much the first time.
Our  home is in Petoskey.  Petoskey is located on  Lake Michigan, one of the 5 Great Lakes.  It is rated as a great resort city along with nearby Traverse City, MI.  It is also close to Mackinac Island, another popular summer location.   It is just off the shore of beautiful Little Traverse Bay.
Less than 1 km walk or bike  through a city park along the bay, gets you to the small city of Petoskey.  It has a great downtown, with shops, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, and a fine arts center with a variety of performances. Summer music festivals are a fun experience.  There are a variety of golf options available. A bike path travels along Lake Michigan with beautiful shoreline views.  The sand dunes and  sandy fresh water beaches are the best in the world.  The state park is a 5-10 minute bike ride or 2 minute drive away.

For winter fun, there is a choice of ski resorts within a 10-20 minute drive to Nubs Knob, Boyne Highlands & Boyne Mountain. There is x-country skiing/snowshoeing just a short walk away and 2 ski shops right next door.   The skiing is as good as you'll find in the midwest.   The city of Petoskey also has a great winter park for sledding and skating as well as many other options for winter fun.
Michigan is a great year round place to visit!  Petoskey was included as # 6 in Smithsonian's top 20 small towns to visit in 2013.  https://www.smithsonianmag.com/travel/the-20-best-small-towns-to-visit-in-2013-1353277/#:~:text=The%2020%20Best%20Small%20Towns%20to%20Visit%20in,7.%20Fairfield%2C%20IA%20%28©%20Charles%20Stretch%20Ledford%29%20

About Our Family

We love the traveling that we are able to do as a retired couple! On most of our trips, our children will not accompany us, as they are grown and engage in their own travels. On occasion, our children may travel with us. We have been doing exchanges with Intervac since the late 1980's and have had many wonderful exchanges.

Lifestyle

The lifestye photos are of our  home just off the shores of Little Traverse Bay in Petoskey.  You will see the sunset over the bay from the upstairs, the kitchen and the porch.  There is a hot tub on the back deck.  Included are summer and winter photos as this is a great area for all the seasons. Towards the end of the photos you can see the walking/biking path that goes through the park to town.  And the last photo is of the sanddunes at the state park less than 5 km down the bike path. It is a wonderful place!
