Retired as a High School Principal along with my wife Marie Marthe retired as a secretary at a nearby geriatric care center, we are anxiously looking forward to our next house exchange.
Our welcoming house is located on a quiet lakeside street within the municipality of Rawdon. A unique cultural characteristic of Rawdon is the bilingual, English and French nature of its 12,000 inhabitants.  Being located in the foothills of the beautiful Laurentian mountains and only an hour drive away form Montreal has made Rawdon a popular Summer vacation destination.
 
Municipal Lake is 3 km long lake offers a municipal beach which is perfect for swimming, kayaking and canoeing (no motorboats allowed).  The Rawdon Golf Course is only a 5 minute walk away. In addition Rawdon boasts several parks and green spaces.
Our two-storey house built in the 1940's sits on a property of 30,000 sq feet and includes large mature trees.  Groceries, restaurants and shopping are easily reached  5 minute by car or a leisurely 20 minute walk.
Our house has a fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Our backyard patio, surrounded by flowers and trees offers a wonderful place to relax.  Our neighbours maintain equally attractive and quiet properties.
 
Distance:
Town of Joliette: only 25 km away offers the Fesival de Lanaudiere, Canada largest classical music festival in July and early August.
Montreal: large cosmopolitan city of 3 million people is only an hour away by car or by bus.
Quebec City: historic capital of French Canada is 3 hours away by car.
Ottawa: Canada's capital is 3 hours away.
Rawdon is located within area known as Lanaudiere are many small and unique villages each with their own treasure to be discovered.

Retraité comme directeur d'une école secondaire et mon épouse retraitée comme agente administrative dans un centre d'hébergement de soins de longue durée. Notre maison de deux étages a été construite dans les années 1940. Restaurants, épiceries sont à quelques minutes par voiture ou environ 20 minutes de marche. Nos voisins sont amicales et tranquilles.

Nous sommes dans la région de Lanaudière à Rawdon. Petite municipalité de 12,000 habitants où l'anglais et le français se côtoient. Le lac de Rawdon est 3 km de long, on peut s'y baigner et faire du canot, kayak. Les moteurs sont interdits sur le lac. Le Club de golf Rawdon est à 5 minutes de marche de la maison.

Nous sommes à 1 h 30 du centre ville de Montréal qui organise de multiple festivals durant l'été.
Joliette est à 25 minutes et organise le plus grand festival de musique classique au Canada, en plein air.
La ville de Québec et Ottawa sont à 3 heures en automobile.
